Oryx Pro

The Oryx Pro is the same design as the standard Oryx, but is made from ECOPAK® EPX200, ais a laminated recycled fabric that is considered the gold standard for ultralight packs worldwide.  The material is waterproof and comes in a wide range of funky colours. If you are looking for an ultra-durable fabric for a pack that is going to be used daily or for thru hikes, then this is the pack for you. Due to the time required for importing, the lead time on these packs is longer

• Large stretch front pocket for quick access to often used gear/food
• Stretch cord for wet or loose gear
• Cord can be re-threaded to carry long rolled up pad vertically
• Adjustable loops for drying socks or securing long items such a trekking poles
• Flat felled seam on front panel to improve water proofing

• Side pockets for water bottles - easy access while on the move
• Threaded stretch cord with tensioner on side pockets to easily secure water bottles
• Side compression cords to tighten pack and retain stiffness

• Female or male shoulder strap and hip belt options
• Removable and adjustable back-pad can be moved for increased air flow and comfort
• Back-pad doubles as comfy sit pad
• Hip belt is removable

• Pack material: we can make the pack from X-Pac VX21™ or ECOPAK™ EPX200 (for additional waterproofing) as a special order. This increases the cost of the pack by between R1200 and R1800 depending on the fabric and shipping method. Lead time also increases by at least 2-4 weeks.

Technical details

• Main pack material: Ripstop polyester with Polyurethane coating (140 g/m2). 3000mm static water head.
• Stretch pockets: Heavy duty spandex (20%) / nylon (80%)
• EVA 45 closed cell foam with high memory in hip belt
• Combination of EVA 45 and softer EVA33 closed cell foam (laminated) with high memory for shoulder straps
• Stitching: Core spun polyester thread with 22.4N tensile strength. 10 stitches per inch, triple stitching on pack seams, flats felled seam on front panel to improve water resistance
• Total pack weight varying between 600g and 750g (excl. optional extras). Hip belt size as a big influence on overall pack weight
• 26l Pack Volume: Internal 24 l + external pocket (up to 2 l) = 26 l, water bottle pockets volume (1.5 l each) excluded
• NOTE: Pack volumes may appear small, but the pack retains stiffness and comfort by packing the pack full. Thus the design intention is that one doesn't have spare space in the pack below the shoulder strap. Variable space is achieved with the roll top closure.
• This is the true volume of the pack and should not  necessarily be compared with big brand backpack volumes. In many cases the volumes stated by some brands are, shall we say, optimistic.
